A massive thank you to past pupil Jackie Wherity for delivering the JAI Success Skills programme to Ms. McGrath’s 5th Year Business class.
The JAI Success Skills programme helps develop students’ interpersonal skills and problem-solving strategies necessary for the workplace.
The programme ran for 40 minutes weekly for six weeks. It included activities to build rapport with others and develop teamwork skills which are critical interpersonal skills. Students underwent individual interpersonal skills assessment and benchmarks were set. They then practiced and developed these skills as Jackie demonstrated their relevance to school, to work, and to life. Students attended mock interviews in the local Bridgestone factory and they were given a tour of the factory.
Thanks again to a great volunteer Jackie Wherity and Elaine O’Brien Lynch from JAI for organising the programme in Balbriggan Community College.
