Yet another marvellous performance today from our sprinting talent, 2nd year student Marvellous Agbator. He travelled to the Leinster championships in Santry, hoping to better his 2nd place finish in the North Leinsters 2 weeks ago.
He was placed in lane 7 for the final of the 200 metres and got off to a flying start gaining speed on his opponent around the bend. As he came off the bend he was closely tied with an athlete in lane 2. However on the finishing straight he took off like a rocket and was in cruise control for the last 60 meters. He finished in a time of 23.63 seconds, just .2 seconds off the Leinster track record.
Marvellous will now participate in the All Ireland championships on Saturday 3rd June in Tullamore Co.Offaly.
