Green schools – working together for a sustainable future.
The path towards becoming a green school is firstly focusing on the issues of litter and waste. The Balbriggan Community College’s Green Schools Committee is focused on fostering a sense of responsibility for our school’s environment and encouraging people to take interest in the wider global climate issues the world is facing.
Our committee is made up of a group of junior students, senior students and staff working collaboratively to tackle major climate issues that affect everyone in our community. In the past year we have explored the different ways our school can conserve water. Our students also came together to raise awareness for such issues as a Water Ambassador team.
